Paladin Security provides professional security services to healthcare facilities across Alberta. As a Health Care Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
This role offers unique hands-on experience in violence prevention, de-escalation, and emergency response, making it an excellent opportunity for those interested in long-term careers in security or law enforcement.
Responsibilities
Monitor patient safety reports and communicate changes to Protective Services and Clinical staff
Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance
Report and document all incidents according to site-specific regulations
Enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive and private information
Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities
Monitor and screen visitors and clients in a professional manner
Respond to and de-escalate high-stress situations while maintaining order
Ensure the safety of patients, clinical staff, and visitors using de-escalation techniques and physical intervention when required
Log and report all incidents involving hospital staff, patients, or visitors
Maintain detailed and accurate site and patient interaction logs
Work independently and make immediate decisions during emergency situations
Must live within 30 minutes of High Prairie
Must have availability 7 days a week
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Alberta Security License
Must be able to work full-time
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts
Availability for overnight shifts and weekends
Ability to travel to rural healthcare sites within a 400–500 km radius
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a professional demeanor
Ability to write detailed reports and maintain accurate logs
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure with minimal supervision
Ability to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs
Legally authorized to work in Canada
