Job Description - Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor

About the role


 


We are seeking a Health Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to drive national WHS and wellbeing initiatives, support operational safety systems, and manage workers compensation claims. Reporting to the National Health, Safety & Wellbeing Partner and working alongside a passionate and collaborative Human Resources team, you will:


 



  • Coordinate the elements within WHS Management System and support leaders with compliance

  • Manage workers compensation claims nationally, including Return to Work planning and liaison with stakeholders and injured workers

  • Monitor hazard and injury reports in FOLIO and support resolution

  • Maintain and update WHS policies, procedures, and SmithNet content

  • Coordinate and assist with the project management of wellbeing programs, HSW committees, and monthly communications

  • Assist with monthly and other WHS reporting and data collection and analysis


 


 


About you


 


As well as passion for community and WHS, you will bring the following: 


 



  • Experience in WHS coordination and supporting leaders and employees with WHS enquiries and issues

  • Injury management experience with demonstrated ability in managing workers compensation claims with successful outcomes

  • Knowledge of national workers compensation and WHS legislation and frameworks along with Codes of Practice

  • Ability to develop and deliver WHS training and educational sessions

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strong administrative and reporting capability, including use of systems like FOLIO and Microsoft applications – attention to detail and ability to produce high quality reports and documents essential

  • Injury Management and or Return to Work Coordination certification

  • WHS Qualification (Cert IV or higher)
