Overview

Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and community-minded individuals to join our Healthcare Security team in Wabasca. As a Healthcare Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, clinical staff, visitors, and the general public within a healthcare environment.

This position requires strong customer service skills, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations. Healthcare Security provides meaningful hands-on experience in conflict de-escalation, violence prevention, emergency response, and patient interaction — experience that can lead to careers in policing, corrections, or advanced security operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient safety and report concerns to Protective Services or Clinical staff
• Report all incidents according to site procedures
• Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance
• Follow and enforce safety regulations, codes, and site protocols
• Handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
• Use two-way radios and computer systems to communicate updates
• Screen and assist visitors and clients respectfully and professionally
• De-escalate and manage high-stress or potentially volatile situations
• Ensure the safety of all stakeholders through proper intervention and conflict management
• Log and document incidents involving hospital staff, patients, or visitors
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient interactions
• Respond promptly to emergency assistance requests

• Must live within 30 minutes of Wabasca
• Must be able to obtain an Alberta Security License
• Must have open availability (days, evenings, nights, weekends)
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle
• Authorized to work in Canada
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, tactful, and customer-focused demeanor
• Ability to write thorough reports and maintain accurate logs
• Sound decision-making skills under pressure
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Physically capable of walking 18–20 km per shift and climbing stairs
