Kingston, ON | $17.95–$22.61/hour | Full-Time

About the Role

Paladin Security is seeking dedicated Healthcare Security Guards to join our Float Pool Team supporting Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and Providence Care Hospital (PCH). This role is essential to ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining a professional and visible security presence.

As part of our Float Pool, you will work across multiple sites, adapting to diverse environments and supporting various healthcare security needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, visible security presence
• Greet, assist, and direct patients, staff, and visitors
• Protect clients, staff, facilities, and assets
• Conduct interior/exterior patrols and respond to emergencies
• Document and report incidents, investigate when required
• Perform patient watches and enforce hospital policies/by-laws
• Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
• Support monthly safety inspections and other assigned duties

Requirements (Must-Have Criteria)

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum double dose)
• Immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2)
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• Minimum 6-month commitment to full-time availability
• English proficiency (oral & written)
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• 6+ months healthcare security experience
• 6+ months non-healthcare security experience
• Bilingual in English & French
• 6+ months customer service experience
• Certification in Stay Safe (or ability to complete Paladin’s program prior to onboarding)

Note: Paladin covers all costs of the Stay Safe certification with a 6-month employment commitment.
