Pay Rate: $21.17/hour

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking confident and adaptable Healthcare Security Professionals to support multiple healthcare sites in Wetaskiwin and surrounding communities.

This role is ideal for individuals who are comfortable traveling to nearby towns and thrive in dynamic healthcare environments such as hospitals, long-term care homes, urgent care centers, and other clinical facilities.

Important Note About Travel

This is a mobile, multi-site role. Candidates must be willing to travel to nearby communities including (but not limited to):
Didsbury, Hanna, Two Hills, Drayton Valley, and Red Deer.

Mileage compensation is provided for any travel that exceeds 50 km one-way from the employee’s home base.

Schedule & Rotation

This position follows a consistent and balanced 7 on / 7 off rotation, alternating between days and nights:

• Week 1: 7 Day Shifts
• Week 2: Off
• Week 3: 7 Night Shifts
• Week 4: Off

This schedule provides excellent work–life balance and predictable time off.

On-Call Structure

On-Call Healthcare Security Guards receive:

• A guaranteed base rate during all on-call hours
• A higher, site-specific wage when called out (call-outs occur almost daily)
• Mileage compensation (as noted above)

Responsibilities

• Control access in/out of healthcare facilities, including secure or restricted zones
• Patrol interior and exterior areas, identifying hazards or safety risks
• Monitor CCTV systems and respond appropriately to observed incidents
• Respond to alarms, urgent situations, and emergency calls
• Conduct preliminary investigations and produce accurate, detailed incident reports
• Monitor and support patient safety when required
• Assist clinical staff, visitors, and patients with a high level of professionalism
• Maintain safety and security in fast-paced, unpredictable environments

Must-Have Criteria

• Must have a vehicle
• Must have an open availability 7 days a week
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts
• Must live in Wetaskiwin or a nearby town
