Schedule: Full-Time – Days, Evenings, Nights (7 Days/Week Availability Required)
Pay Rate: $26.01/hour

Averaging Agreement: Overtime may apply in accordance with site-specific agreements

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and community-minded individuals to join our Healthcare Security team in Valleyview. As a Healthcare Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, clinical staff, visitors, and the general public.

This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a genuine passion for helping people. Healthcare Security offers meaningful hands-on experience in conflict de-escalation, violence prevention, emergency response, and patient interaction—providing a strong foundation for future careers in policing, corrections, or advanced security operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient safety and report concerns to Protective Services or Clinical staff
• Report all incidents according to site procedures
• Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance
• Follow and enforce safety regulations, codes, and protocols
• Handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
• Utilize two-way radios and computer systems to communicate site updates
• Screen and assist visitors and clients respectfully and professionally
• De-escalate and manage high-stress situations while maintaining order
• Ensure the safety of all stakeholders through proper intervention and conflict management
• Log and document incidents involving hospital staff, patients, or visitors
• Maintain detailed records of patient interactions
• Respond promptly to emergency assistance requests

• Must live within 30 minutes of Valleyview, AB
• Must have full availability (days, evenings, nights, weekends)
• Must be available 7 days per week
• Must be able to obtain an Alberta Security License
• Must hold a valid Class 5 (or higher) Driver’s License
• Must have a reliable personal vehicle
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, tactful, and customer-focused demeanor
• Ability to write detailed reports and maintain accurate logs
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Physically able to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairs
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
