Position Overview

As a Healthcare Security Officer, you'll play a key role in protecting patients, staff, and visitors. This is a Full-Time position with rotational 12-hour shifts (0700–1900 and 1900–0700). You'll patrol hospital grounds, respond to emergencies, control access points, and assist with conflict resolution and policy enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital facilities and surrounding grounds
• Monitor surveillance and alarm systems
• Control access and ensure authorized entry only
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with local services
• Support staff with safety procedures and visitor policies
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors
• Document incidents and maintain security logs
• Collaborate with law enforcement and healthcare teams

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid (or ability to obtain) Nova Scotia Security License
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C
• Double COVID-19 vaccination
• Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, and 2-step TB test
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Able to work rotational day/night shifts
• Reliable transportation
• At least 19 years of age
• Able to pass a criminal background check

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous security, law enforcement, or healthcare experience
• Certifications in UoF (Use of Force) and MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behaviour)
Note: Paladin offers company-paid UoF/MOAB training with a 6-month role commitment
