We are hiring a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Cat Rental Store division in Prince George. You will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of our rental equipment line.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Troubleshoot, maintenance and repair tasks on product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment in a field environment
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification
• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
• Thorough knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine electronic management systems
• Safety conscious team player
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail

• Must possess the technical knowledge to perform service tasks on our product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) aerial work platform equipment as well as knowledge of diesel generators 8 KW to 200 KW

Important Details:

• This role is based in Prince George on a 5x2 Shift
• A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Stie Access including Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to be fit tested/wear a respirator
