Nortrans is excited to announce that we're;re seeking an experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician to join our team immediately. This is a full-time position that offers a high degree of independence and a wide variety of work to keep Nortrans’ fleet of 70 trailers and 50 trucks in top working condition.

A Day In The Life Of Nortrans’ Tech

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain & repair Nortrans’ fleet, primarily out of Nortrans’ Enterprise yard in Kelowna.
• Travel out to Nortrans’ different yards as needed, including Vernon and Chilliwack, in Nortrans service truck; perform mobile maintenance in these yards.
• Repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers. This includes air systems, lighting, brakes, trailer components, curtain sides and curtain parts etc.
• Reposition trucks and trailers around Nortrans’ yard; you should be comfortable maneuvering in a truck yard; the ability to pull a truck and trailer on the highway is an asset.
• Order and install parts on your own to complete maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the service truck in good working condition.
• Use Nortrans’ maintenance system, MaintainX to track work completed on each piece of equipment.

Your Qualifications and Experience

• Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician
• Journeyman mechanic
• Class 1 or Class 3 license
• You’re a self starter. You love your job, and love a job well done.
• A do-it-all attitude; this person must be a team player who’s happy moving between different tasks. If there’s a job to do, you’re more than happy to be hands on.
• Ability to work Saturday and/or Sunday. As Nortrans’ equipment is parked all weekend, this is the best time to reach pieces that are on the road all week.
