Summary of position

Abalone has a great opportunity for those experienced operating and hauling heavy equipment!

Under the direction of the Maintenance Facility Manager and President, the Heavy Equipment Hauler is based out of Edmonton and is responsible for transporting heavy equipment (excavators, graders, loaders, scrapers, dozers, rock trucks, tractors and packers, etc.) to various work sites across Alberta.

Role and Responsibilities

• Transporting heavy equipment to various project locations through Alberta, primarily Edmonton.


• Loading equipment on and off of the low bed truck and following site safety rules and regulations


• Ensuring loads are secure


• General maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle


• Maintaining log books and time sheets in an accurate and timely manner


• Working with other members of the team in a professional manner


• Supporting the Maintenance Facility as directed by Maintenance Facility Manager and President

Qualifications, Training and Education

• Class one license with Air brake endorsement and a clean commercial drivers abstract is required


• Minimum of five (5) years transporting heavy equipment with low boy, multi axle (jeeps/boosters/trailers)


• Extensive experience operating heavy equipment


• Knowledge and experience within heavy civil construction


• Willingness to work long hours including weekends


• Valid CSTS, Ground Disturbance II, WHMIS 2015


• Local to Edmonton area preferred

Working Conditions

Candidates must be willing to commit to 10+ hours/ day
