Job Description

AIM is currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Saint-Augustin site, Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Reporting to the Site Director, the operator receives various types of metals, performs an initial classification, and transports them to the appropriate locations.

What you’re responsible for:

  • Carrying out all operations related to the use of heavy machinery (grapples, magnets, loaders) assigned to you, while respecting safety rules, quality standards, and environmental regulations;
  • Sorting materials and supplying raw materials to various plants;
  • Loading and unloading materials from trucks and railcars;
  • Informing the supervisor of any non-conforming material;
  • Inspecting machinery at the beginning of each shift;
  • Ensuring the machinery is functioning properly and reporting any issues to your immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

To join our team:

  • DEP in heavy machinery or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience operating heavy vehicles
  • Experience operating a heavy vehicle 
  • Knowledge of metals (an asset)
  • Careful and attentive with equipment
  • Strong health and safety awareness
  • Versatile and resourceful
