Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator / Skid steer)

Backwoods is hiring for Equipment Operators(Specializing in operation of excavator to dig around water sewer lines ) as well as provide construction services in and around Edmonton, Alberta area. Start Date:  June 2024 Job Type:  Contract What we offer: Overtime Job Responsibilities Operate the heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner (Excavator and Skid steer) Ability to operate in tight places with pedestrians in the vicinity Perform daily maintenance and safety check on equipment Work with ground personnel in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on line and grade Ensure trench is excavated to proper depth / grade Responsible for placement of culvert, pipe, and tools in the excavation Report to the Foreman Perform other duties, as and when assigned Role Requirements: 10 years experience Ability to pass pre-employment D&A testing Class 5 drivers license Ability to provide Vehicle insurance and Vehicle registration to gain access for work trucks Ability to provide a 3 years Drivers Abstract Experience working around Utilities (water & Sewer) Ability work in safety sensitive environment and in all weather conditions Experience working in an Infrastructure environment (busy roadways, tight spaces, residential area with lots of pedestrians) The ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner Valid H2S Alive, First Aid (Level C), CSTS 2020, Ground Disturbance and WHMIS 2015 is an asset.
