Job Description - Hebrew/Judaic Teacher

VTT, a community Jewish day school serving a student body from ages 3 to 13, is currently recruiting a Temporary Hebrew/Judaic Teacher.  This is a great opportunity to get to know our school, our campus, our culture and our incredible community!  At Vancouver Talmud Torah, we provide a stimulating and challenging educational environment infused with meaningful learning experiences.  Our school serves families from a diverse range of Jewish backgrounds and religious practices.  We are Western Canada's largest Jewish community day school and have more than 100 years of experience!

Qualifications:




  • Current certification or eligible for certification with the TRB

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

  • Ability to speak, read and write Hebrew fluently.

  • Strong familiarity with, and a desire to impart Judaic content.

  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and ongoing professional growth.

  • Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to differentiate instruction and foster a collaborative and creative environment. 

  • Candidate should be highly motivated to grow professionally, work collaboratively, and to become part of an active learning community

  • Commitment to excellence in teaching, collaboration and ongoing professional growth.

  • Excellent communication, creative problem solving and organizational skills.

  • Develop a learning environment that is conducive to learning and inspires student growth

  • Continually assess student achievement using a variety of methods and modalities

  • Differentiate learning according to students' skills and abilities, provide accommodations and modifications to support the success of all students

  • Participate in school-wide professional development and continually seek feedback and coaching to develop as a teacher

  • Contribute to a culture of collegiality and collaboration through seeing oneself as part of team

  • Growing proficiency in integrating and utilizing technology
