Housing Support Worker
Chilliwack, BC | $26.52/hr | Casual

Do you have a heart for community and a passion for walking alongside others in their housing journey? Ruth & Naomi’s Mission is seeking dedicated Housing Support Workers to join our Interchange team. This frontline role supports residents in a trauma-informed, faith-based environment where dignity, safety, and hope are at the center.

For over 20 years, Ruth & Naomi’s Mission has been a beacon of hope in Chilliwack—serving meals, offering shelter, and supporting recovery. Our supportive housing programs meet people where they are, offering a stable foundation for growth and transformation. At Interchange, we provide safe and supportive housing for individuals seeking or maintaining abstinence, and we walk with them every step of the way.



What You’ll Do



  • Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and foster a supportive atmosphere

  • Provide day-to-day engagement and crisis support

  • Monitor safety, de-escalate conflicts, and respond to emergencies

  • Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with the team

  • Promote a safe, clean, and structured living environment

  • Live out RAN’s values of Grace, Hope, and Trust in all you do


What You Bring



  • Education & Experience: Grade 12 required; post-secondary in social services or equivalent experience preferred

  • Training: First Aid required (can be obtained post-hire), NVCI or similar is an asset

  • Experience: Familiarity with addiction recovery, mental health, or vulnerable populations

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, conflict de-escalation, documentation

  • Personal Strengths: Emotional boundaries, quick thinking, team-oriented, and compassionate

  • Other: Criminal Record Check (required), Class 5 driver’s license preferred

  • Available to work evening, overnight and weekend shifts as needed
