Job Description - HR Country Manager for Canada

What success looks like in this role:

The HR Country Manager / HR Business Partner / Generalist for Canada will be responsible for managing and executing HR strategies, programs, and policies that align with the company's overall business objectives. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to support the Canadian operations, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.

HR Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Partner with senior management to understand the business needs and translate them into HR plans and solutions.
  • Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related issues.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary.
  • Promote a positive work environment and enhance employee engagement.
  • Performance Management:

  • Implement and manage performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers on performance-related issues and employee development.
  • Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR reports.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure HR practices and documentation are compliant with legal requirements.
  • HR Administration:

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, HRIS, and benefits administration.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or business partner role.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in French is a strong preference.
