Job Description - HR Generalist

North West Rubber Ltd., was founded in 1968 in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada.  For 
over 50 years, North West Rubber has been a leading manufacturer of recycled rubber flooring 
solutions throughout North America and globally.   Now present in over 50 countries, NWR has 
expanded its manufacturing and sales and marketing leadership across multiple industry sectors 
including Ice Rink, Sports Complex, Recreational Farming, Playground, Industrial, Trailer, Home 
Fitness, Truck & Trailer, Equine, Beef and Dairy. 



Today, North West Rubber is one of the largest rubber mat manufacturers in the world.  We 
own and operate manufacturing facilities in Canada (British Columbia, Ontario, & Quebec), in 
the USA (Texas), and in China.  



We are actively looking for an HR Generalist to provide day-to-day human resources support 
across two locations in Brantford, Ontario.  This position partners employees and leaders to 
support core HR processes including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance 
management, policy interpretation, and compliance with Ontario employment legislation.   



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 



Employee Relations & HR Support: 



  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, 
    and workplace issues 

  • Support employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, 
    accommodation requests, and conflict resolution

  • Assist with workplace investigations and documentation, escalating complex matters as 
    appropriate

  • Foster a positive employee experience aligned with company values 
    Support in employee engagement and internal social programs 



Recruitment & Onboarding: 



  • Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, and offer 
    coordination for hourly positions  

  • Facilitate pre/onboarding activities to ensure a smooth and compliant new-hire 
    experience 

  • Support offboarding processes, including exit interviews and termination 
    documentation for all hourly positions  




HR Administration & Compliance: 



  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS (Bamboo) and training (Percipio) and 
    ensure that all paperwork is provided to payroll for processing.   

  • Ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation (ESA, OHRC, WSIB)

  • Support absence management by tracking days missed and issuing documentation as 
    required  


 
Performance & Talent Support: 



  • Support performance review cycles and related documentation

  • Conduct investigations and develop recommendations as necessary  

  • Assist managers with goal-setting and ongoing performance conversations, document 
    performance improvement plans, and coaching conversations  

  • Contribute to learning, engagement, and development initiatives 



Policy & Process Improvement: 



  • Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures 

  • Support HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, culture, and 
    compliance 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR practices and employee experience 
    Assist in completion of monthly metrics 



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 



  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 
    2–5 years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist or Coordinator role 

  • Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and best practices 

  • Experience using HRIS and ATS systems (ADP preferred) 

  • Previous experience in talent acquisition is a must with a preference for candidates with 
    manufacturing experience  

  • Strong data mindset; leverages data to drive decision making and influence change 
    Working and collaborating with a diverse, multicultural group
