Overview

About the Role - We are looking for a dedicated HR Generalist to support our Research & Development organizations. The HR Generalist will contribute to the overall success and efficiency of our team by offering advice and support on a range of HR functions. In this multifaceted role, you will partner with HR Business Partners to offer guidance and coaching to our employee population on everything from employee relations to compensation matters while also collaborating with the broader People team to spearhead initiatives that enhance HR processes.This role is critical to enable our business growth and further our mission of creating a world where everyone has access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together.

About the Job 

  • Provide on-the-ground support in the Toronto office
  • Advise and provide coaching to first-time managers on employee relations, systems implementation, compliance, compensation, benefits, performance management, HR policies, company programs and other related topics
  • Partner with your function’s HR Business Partner on larger projects and organizational changes
  • Proactively identify opportunities for HR process improvements and collaborate with the broader People Operations team to implement innovative solutions that enhance employee experiences
  • Conduct exit interviews and support the administration of employee offboarding
  • Be a vital touchpoint for all people-related outreach regarding benefits, performance, company programs, and policies
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams across Recruiting, Payroll, Learning & Development, Legal, Compensation, Benefits, and Policy to integrate people solutions
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for labor laws for both exempt and non-exempt employee groups (performance, benefits, compliance, terminations, leaves of absences, etc.)
  • Take on special projects and additional responsibilities as needed to support the HR team and organizational objectives
  • About You

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of HR experience in fast-growing organizations
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations in Canada and the US 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong communicator with demonstrated experience influencing and collaborating cross-functionally and with close attention to detail
  • Experience with being the face of HR, representing policies and practices to managers and employees across the organization
  • Proficient with Google Suite and HRIS systems
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting Engineering organizations
  • Ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary
  • AI utilization to improve work efficiencies and the employee experience
