At Devoted Studios, we are a codev studio specializing in production management and external development for video games. Our goal is to create conditions and tools to empower decentralized game production and provide a level playing field for global talent to contribute to their dream game projects. By decentralizing game development, we aim to create equal opportunities for all. We work in partnership with over 1400 programmers, artists, and designers, ranging from freelancers to small studios, located across the globe. Our role involves not only matching them with project opportunities but also overseeing the entire production process from start to finish.
*This is a remote, full-time contracted position hiring in Montreal, Canada!
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to lead our HR initiatives with a focus on building and managing multinational HR functions and ensuring government compliance across various international jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of navigating bureaucratic processes to support a transcontinental team while implementing HR best practices and strategies that align with the organization's global objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's global expansion plans and objectives.
- Provide leadership in shaping and sustaining the company's culture.
- Build and manage multinational HR functions, including, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and employment laws in multiple countries, providing expert guidance on legal and regulatory HR matters.
- Navigate and simplify bureaucratic processes to support a transcontinental team, ensuring seamless HR operations across various international locations.
- Implement innovative solutions and tools to streamline HR workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain standardized HR policies and procedures that adhere to local and international regulations.
- Act as a key point of contact for employee relations, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
- Oversee the design and implementation of compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and compliant in diverse global markets.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in HR operations, promoting efficiency and best practices across the organization.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to HR staff, promoting professional development and a high-performance HR team.
- Ensure transparent communication of HR policies, changes, and updates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in HR management is preferred.
- 5+ years of proven experience in a senior HR leadership role focusing on multinational HR management and government compliance.
- Demonstrated experience navigating bureaucratic processes and managing HR operations across multiple international locations.
- In-depth knowledge of global employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, with a strong track record of ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory HR obligations.
- Experience developing and implementing HR strategies supporting the business's global expansion and growth objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse international stakeholders and build strong cross-cultural relationships.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a focus on fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, data analytics, and reporting tools.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing competitive and compliant compensation and benefits programs in a multinational environment.
- Experience in gaming or entertainment is a big plus!
