Job Description - HR Manager

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Toronto - Onsite

Department: Human Resources

Responsibilities:

  • Implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and databases.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and leaves.
  • Ensure data quality in HR Information Systems.
  • Manage critical personnel dates and compliance requirements.
  • Lead and develop the HR team.
  • Advise senior management on HR-related issues.
  • Assist with disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and terminations.
  • Conduct workplace harassment investigations.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and managers.
  • Conduct training sessions, including onboarding and exit interviews.
  • Manage performance evaluations and stay updated with compensation best practices.
  • Support recruitment efforts and manage onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Develop succession planning and talent management strategies.
  • Address payroll inquiries and ensure timely payroll processing.
  • Maintain accurate payroll data and serve as payroll backup when needed.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollment and changes.
  • Oversee workplace safety processes and manage claims.
  • Administer the health & safety committee.
  • Work on HR projects supporting strategic business direction.
  • Continuously improve HR processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills/Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field.
    • 3-5 years of HR management experience.
    • Full-cycle payroll experience is an asset.
    • Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, and other provincial legislation.
    • CHRP Designation and PCP certification is an asset.
