Job Description - HRIS Analytics Specialist

At SMS Equipment, our HRIS Analytics Specialist is a key player in the advancement of HR Analytics by managing data, extracting, and integrating data, and developing metrics, dashboards & analyses for business users. This position is in Acheson, AB.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Consult with stakeholders and review requirements to determine how best to support by building custom reports which drive insights using system data.
  • Build and maintain metric definitions.
  • Develop and compile regular and periodical reports to track and monitor trends, verifying accuracy and consistency of data and processes.
  • Work collaboratively with IT to develop and maintain data lake.
  • Leverage solutions to automate the production and maintenance of scheduled reports and dashboards for various levels within the organization.
  • Produce ad hoc reports to support acute business requirements.
  • Ensuring data integrity through quality assurance and auditing.
  • Extract, transform, compile, and load data from different sources to support downstream analytical activities such as dashboard and report development.
  • Research and analyze data for trends and prepare well-written, concise summaries related to key findings.
  • Act as the lead administrator and subject matter expert for assigned modules.
  • Ensuring process and procedure compliance.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders to explore opportunities to improve software utilization to streamline business processes.
  • Monitor client community and vendor communications related to assigned modules to identify opportunities to enhance.
  • Assist with testing of new releases and enhancements to assigned modules.
  • Provide support to managers, supervisors, and employees to encourage the full utilization and optimization of assigned system modules.
  • Provide first level support with troubleshooting and issue resolution for assigned modules.
  • Assist with updating and creating documentation to assist HR, Managers, and employees with how to use the systems.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to triage incoming inquiries and requests to the department inbox.
  • Completion of projects as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

    The successful candidate will have a post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Computer Engineering or Mathematics paired with a minimum of 3 years of systems and analytics experience in and organization of similar size, complexity, and scope. Additional requirements include:

  • Experience with Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety system applications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite experience to support report generation, collaboration, and document preparation.
  • Experience using Power BI software.
  • Strong analytical acumen in statistics and evaluation of data.
  • Experience working with payroll and other sensitive data, complying with policy and legislation requirements pertaining to privacy, confidentiality, and data security.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner are required.
  • Must possess strong problem solving, organizational skills, time management and the ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and ITIL is an asset.
