SALARY/WAGE: Starting at $100,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
JOB SUMMARY: The Agency is assisting in the confidential recruitment of an experienced HSE Manager for a growing organization with operations across Alberta. Based in either Grande Prairie or Red Deer, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.
The HSE Manager will lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's HSE Management System while partnering closely with operational leaders, employees, clients, and regulatory agencies. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on safety performance, compliance, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and maintain the organization's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, municipal, and client-specific HSE requirements.
Administer electronic compliance and safety management systems, including reporting, dashboards, and client compliance platforms.
Monitor HSE performance metrics, prepare management reports, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Serve as the primary HSE liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
NCSO, CRSP, or similar professional designation is considered a strong asset.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive HSE experience.
Minimum 3–5 years of leadership or management experience within an HSE function.
Experience supporting field-based operations, industrial service environments, or related sectors is preferred.
Strong knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation and environmental regulations.
Demonstrated experience managing COR certification programs and safety audits.
Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation, and root cause analysis methodologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HSE management software platforms.
Willingness to travel regularly to field locations, client sites, and operational facilities throughout Alberta.
