Team & Culture
As an HR Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting a wide range of HR functions, working closely with employees and cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include assisting with recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, retention initiatives, performance management, training and development, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation. In addition, you will provide occasional payroll support as needed. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail, discretion, and a commitment to employee service.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes across HRIS and other relevant platforms.
Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, documentation, and employment status changes.
Organize and manage employee profiles and documents within HRIS systems.
Generate Records of Employment (ROEs) and offboard departing employees from all platforms.
Oversee HR and Benefits inboxes, ensuring timely and professional responses.
Conduct monthly audits of email distribution lists based on active/inactive employee status.
Provide occasional payroll support as needed, during absences.
Act as the key contact and administrator for company health & wellness benefits and the Group RRSP program.
Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment legislation.
Stay informed on HR trends, best practices, and legal/regulatory changes to proactively advise on potential organizational impacts.
Collaborate with leadership and various departments to support employee engagement initiatives and internal events.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HR Administrator role.
Experience working with HRIS systems is required.
Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
Previous payroll processing experience is considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
Previous experience using ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
Familiarity with the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and Labour Relations is preferred and considered an asset.
