Position Available:


Human Resources Assistant - Full Time - 8 weeks contract


Location: 155 Gordon Baker Road, Suite 400, Toronto, Ontario M2H 3N5 (Hybrid with a minimum of two days a week in office)


Start Date: To be determined


About Family Day:


Family Day Care Services is a non-profit, charitable organization with a long and distinguished history of providing high-quality early learning and child care services to children and families throughout Toronto, York and Peel Regions. We are a multi-service organization with over 500 employees, providing a broad range of services including:



  1. 29 Child Care Centres

  2. 49 Before and After Care programs

  3. 204 Licensed Home Child Cares

  4. 9 EarlyON programs

  5. 2 Homework Plus programs

  6. Special Needs Resourcing for children and their families living in the Greater Toronto Area


Candidates must fulfill the following requirements:



  1. Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment

  2. Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*

  3. Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations


Job Purpose:


The Human Resources Assistant at Family Day will have the opportunity to conduct a variety of recruitment activities. The range of duties includes but is not limited to:


Job Duties:



  1. Screening telephone calls, scheduling interviews and conducting research to locate potential job candidates

  2. Searching resumes and assisting with planning new employee orientations

  3. Compiling materials and maintaining employee database records

  4. Reference checks

  5. Other administrative tasks
