Position Summary:


The HR Coordinator assists Human Resources functions and provides administrative support to managers and employees across the organization. They are responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employment changes, leave management, and offboarding. They also assist in developing and implementing HR systems, policies, and programs to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and support organizational goals.



Job duties and responsibilities:



  • Write job descriptions and manage the postings through ATS.

  • Promote employment opportunities at recruitment events and career fairs.

  • Review resumes, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and complete reference checks.

  • Prepare employment offer letters and administer new hire paperwork.

  • Conduct onboarding for new hires, ensuring compliance with employment standards and internal processes.

  • Collaborate with managers and Payroll to ensure a timely process of employment changes, including new hires, promotions, transfers, LOA, and exit process.

  • Administer and continuously improve HR systems (HRIS, digital onboarding, file management) to streamline HR operations.

  • Support performance development through the annual employee review process.

  • Assist in developing HR programs, policies, vision boards, and cultural events.

  • Escalate HR issues to the Department Manager and HR Manager to ensure effective conflict resolution



Skills and Qualifications:



  • 1-2 years of experience in office administration, preferably with an HR focus

  • Post-secondary training or certification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field

  • Strong proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) in order to develop and maintain various documents, spreadsheets, and databases

  • Experience with HRIS is an asset

  • Commitment to continuous learning to update industry knowledge

Logistical Requirements: 


This is a full-time position at Dueck Auto Group with the head office located at 400 SE Marine Drive.  The position may require reasonable flexibility in work hours to meet business deadlines. Professional attire is required (business casual dress code).
