Job Description - Human Resources Manager



Vanier Children’s Mental Wellness is proud to be recognized across Southwestern Ontario as a trusted leader in children’s mental health. We are the Lead Agency for Child and Youth Mental Health System planning in our region. We’ve been here for families, for more than 60 years, offering innovative care and support for children and youth who are facing emotional and behavioural challenges.


 


As a registered charity and not-for-profit organization, we are funded by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. We deliver culturally responsive, accessible mental health services to children, youth, and families while providing system leadership and advocating to improve care in our community.


 


Position Summary:

As our HR Manager, you’ll be at the heart of building a thriving workplace culture that balances innovation with accountability. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will lead a broad portfolio of HR operations spanning talent acquisition, onboarding/offboarding, compliance and documentation, and EDIB initiatives. Working across both union and non-union employee groups, this role provides a unique opportunity to tackle complex challenges, foster collaboration, and implement strategies that have a lasting impact on organizational culture and employee experience.


Education/Training/Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.

  •  5 years of progressive HR experience, including union relations.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, quality improvement, and policy development.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • A passion for building inclusive, engaging, and future-ready workplaces.

  • Certified Human Resources Leader or Certified Human Resources Executive (CHRP or CHRE).

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams).


 


Role and Responsibilities:   



  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes with a focus on the employee experience.

  • Drive performance management and training programs that unlock potential across all levels.

  • Partner with union representatives to resolve grievances and support collective bargaining.

  • Ensure compliance with employment law, health and safety standards, and organizational policies.

  • Champion EDIB (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging) initiatives to foster a culture of respect and belonging.

  • Use HR analytics to monitor workforce trends, attendance, and engagement, turning data into actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals and related projects.


 


Requirements:



  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

  • 2 Step TB test

  • Vulnerable Sector Check/Broad Record Check


 


Schedule:



  • 35-hour work week.

  • Monday- Friday
