Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking an HVAC Journeyperson for our Service Division to maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment. The individual would be required to join or be a member of UA787 Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Union.

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform routine predictive planned maintenance duties and log.
• Complete work orders, deficiency reports and provide quality recommended repairs to clients within a timely manner.
• Experience installing, servicing and repairing HVAC, Refrigeration and Gas fired equipment.
• Understanding of building designs as it relates to building envelopes, HVAC, hydronic systems.
• Starting up and shutting down major building equipment seasonally.
• Handle, recover, store and document refrigerants.
• Test and repair electronic components.
• Ability to join an On-Call rotation.
• Other duties as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a valid 313A refrigeration certificate.
• Valid G1 or G2 Certification.
• Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate (ODP).

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 3 or more years’ experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Oil Burner Technician Certificate would be considered an asset.
• Valid ‘G’ Driver’s license.
• Knowledge of a variety of electronic, pneumatic and DDC control systems.
• Ability to read and work from Mechanical / Electrical drawings, HVAC/R schematics, line drawings, etc.
• Always maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees and clients.
• A team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
• Available and willing to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and work on a ladder or scaffold at various heights.
• Able to obtain Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance.
