In addition to standard Ice Team duties, the Ice Team Lead is responsible for attending the Hype Team’s pre-game briefing and leading the Ice Team briefing. The Team Lead also provides direction and feedback to part time team during hockey games.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a high level ice team and act as liaison with ice maintenance crew during all games and events.
Assist in the training of all ice team members to ensure they are able and motivated to provide a high level of accuracy and consistency in all game night related duties
Provide on-going feedback to ice team staff, handling issues as they arise
Provide ice cleaning during TV-time outs
Provide on-ice assistance with set–up and execution of intermission contests as required
Attend Game Entertainment event briefings representing the ice team
Other duties may be assigned as required
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities:
Proven supervisory and team leadership skills.
Must meet minimum 75% availability each month
Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by team schedule.
Must be energetic, positive, assertive and self-motivated person.
Solid team player
Must have excellent communication skills, professional attitude and appearance.
Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact professionally with fans
Must be 19 years or older
High level of physical fitness
Must be a competent skater in hockey skates
Must be able to handle props & tools while skating (participation in on-ice auditions is required)
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
Knowledge of, and a passion for, professional hockey would be an asset
