Quick Facts
Compensation: $22.24 per hour, plus as part of Government's Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy, Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) working in licensed childcare facilities are eligible to receive a $6 per hour wage enhancement

Reporting to: Manager, Child Care
Location: Okanagan Mission YMCA Child Care
Schedule: Full-time role, 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This role is ideal for a caring, energetic, and dedicated Infant/Toddler Early Childhood Educator who is passionate about supporting infants and toddlers during their earliest stages of development while building meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
What You Will Do
In this role you will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality, child-centered infant and toddler program, this role supports children's development, ensures a safe and inclusive learning environment, and partners with families and colleagues to create positive early learning experiences.
Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports the healthy development and well-being of infants and toddlers.
Plan and deliver age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences that foster curiosity, confidence, and early childhood development.
Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families to support each child’s growth and sense of belonging.
Support individual developmental milestones by adapting care and learning experiences to meet the unique needs of each child.
Collaborate with families and colleagues to promote consistent, inclusive, and high-quality early learning experiences.
Maintain a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment where all children and families feel respected and valued.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children by upholding licensing requirements and best practices in child care.
Guide children’s social-emotional development using positive, child-centered approaches that encourage independence and self-regulation.
Contribute to a collaborative team culture dedicated to excellence in early childhood education and family support.
What You Bring
British Columbia Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Infant/Toddler Certificate (required).
Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C
Minimum age of 19 years, in accordance with provincial childcare licensing requirements.
Knowledge of BC childcare licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and inclusive, child-centered practices, supported by strong communication and relationship-building skills.
