Description
Reporting to the Director of Technology. An integral part of the ALMAG Aluminium Information Technology Department the Infrastructure, Server & Migration Specialist is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's server and infrastructure environments while leading technical aspects of system modernization, cloud adoption, and data/application migrations. This role ensures stable day-to-day operations across infrastructure platforms and plays a key role in implementing future-state technology solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Infrastructure, Server and Migration Specialist are detailed below, but not limited to the following:
Infrastructure & Server Management
Administer and maintain physical and virtual server environments
Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability
Manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
Maintain storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
Support Microsoft 365 and cloud-connected infrastructure services
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle management
Additional duties as required to support the business
Cloud & Hybrid Environment Support
Support Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure environments
Manage virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity services
Assist with cloud migration planning and implementation
Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization and costs
Migration & Systems Modernization
Lead technical planning and execution of server, application, and data migrations
Develop migration strategies, cutover plans, and rollback procedures
Coordinate migrations from legacy systems to modern platforms
Participate in validation of migrated data and systems to ensure business continuity
Support ERP, application, and infrastructure modernization initiatives
Security & Compliance
Implement infrastructure security best practices
Manage access controls and privileged accounts
Support vulnerability remediation and patch management
Ensure backup, recovery, and business continuity processes are in place and maintained
Operational Support
Provide support for infrastructure issues
Maintain technical documentation and system architecture diagrams
Collaborate with internal IT staff, vendors, and project teams
Participate in after-hours maintenance and planned upgrades when required
Follow all established processes, guidelines and procedures.
Create and maintain support documentation.
Assist with any projects assigned.
Provide after-hours support as required.
Additional duties as required to support the business
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Minimum 7 years of IT infrastructure and server administration experience
Minimum 7 years of experience managing
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
Expert in Azure Active Directory, Entra ID, VMs, storage, networking and App Services
Experience with SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC and advanced security policies
Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization technologies
Experience with business continuity and backup disaster recovery technologies
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
Experience supporting manufacturing production environments is an asset
Technical Skills/Competence
Must be familiar with Active Directory, VOIP Phone systems, label printers, and barcode scanners
Experience leading infrastructure, cloud, and ERP migrations
Microsoft Azure administration experience
Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
Experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, or other automation tools
Experience supporting a cloud transformation initiative
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
Ability to learn and train on a variety of software
Excellent communication, customer service, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of the team
Excellent understanding of IT service management
Excellent understanding of change and release management procedures
Ability to analyse, evaluate, and define needs, as well as create and execute implementation test plans, is essential
Knowledge of budget and vendor management is an asset

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs.
