Job Description - Insurance Business Development Coordinator

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Insurance Business Development Coordinator (IBDC) reports to the Insurance Business Development Group (IBDG) which is a team that offers business development and marketing support for a variety of areas related to life and living benefits insurance and wealth income products.  The group is part of RBC Wealth Management Financial Services Inc. (RBC WMFS Inc.). a wholly owned insurance agency within RBC Dominion Securities Inc. (DS). This non-sales position is accountable to help support the IBDG in their mandate of providing both client-facing and internal use content, tools, and resources to the national sales teams of Estate Planning Specialists, life-licensed advisors within Dominion Securities (DS) and Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel (PH&N IC) and each of their respective support teams within RBC Wealth Management Canada (WMC). We are looking for someone that wants to learn about the insurance business while seeking an opportunity to grow within the role while they uncover the functionalities of our business.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate the publication and distribution of content on RBC Intranet sites
  • Coordinate the process of translating content through RBC’s approved vendor(s)
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date content that will engage users
  • Help to create digital media content including but not limited to the recording, editing and promotion
  • Research and compare new products and suppliers in the Canadian marketplace
  • Support the Insurance Business Development Group on various initiatives surrounding the promotion of insurance solutions and resources
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Administrative duties as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in an insurance agency or equivalent role within the industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma (emphasis in business / marketing or related discipline)
  • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (E.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Social media and digital technology skills
  • High-level of attention to detail, well organized and the ability to review work for quality assurance purposes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment while working through competing tasks and priorities
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude throughout your interactions
  • Willingness and ability to work independently

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of life, living benefits and/or wealth insurance products
  • Currently LLQP licensed
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Strong drive and commitment to continuous learning and improvement, to increase skills, knowledge, and abilities
  • Be client-oriented with good personal skills and the ability to be flexible and proactive
  • Be a creative thinker that is willing to share ideas and provide feedback in team settings
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to interact with partners effectively in person, via email and over the telephone
  • Ability to add value to the business by being responsible and contributing to an exceptional client experience

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$55,000.00 - $90,000.00
