Intermediate Accountant

As an Intermediate Accountant on our Finance team, you will be an integral part of our finance team. You will be responsible for supporting our full-cycle accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and period-end closing cycles. You will also assist with various tasks and projects, as needed.

In the role, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the Accounts Payable processes, including receiving and entering bills, corresponding with vendors, and creating payment batches.

• Supporting the Accounts Receivable processes including following up on delinquent accounts, sending invoices, and corresponding with customers.

• Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and departmental allocations.

• Managing the company’s credit card program including report reconciliations, credit allocations, and cardholder support.

• Reviewing and processing of employee expense reports.

• Supporting ad-hoc finance projects as needed.

• Supporting with the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes.

• Supporting with the preparation of GST, PST, and other tax filings.

Required Experience 

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Two (2) or more years of general accounting experience. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Ability to both work independently and collaborate as part of a team.

• Ability to complete a high volume of work accurately and within deadlines.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Good problem-solving skills. 

• Experience with Quickbooks Online is an asset.

• CPA, or working towards it, is an asset.
