This is an in-office position with the ability to work one day from home per week as requested.





Summary of Position:

The Intermediate Architect will actively contribute to the design, delivery and coordination of all phases of the project from pre-design to site administration. This will include responsibility for architectural drawings, design integration/strategies and planning requirements. Collaboration is a key component of this role and will involve consultant coordination, client relations and strong project communication. You will work on a variety of projects including multifamily, mixed-use, commercial & master planning projects. This is an in-office position with the ability to work one day from home per week as requested.


Role Responsibilities:



  • Assist in Schematic Design and Design Development of a project

  • Research various building types, including precedent images and use of materials

  • Use 3-D technology to graphically describe the intent and massing of the project

  • Prepare design and/or technical working drawings, in AutoCAD or Revit

  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of specifications, permit, and tender docs

  • Collaborate in the execution of the Construction Administration of a project

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and City officials

  • Attend meetings and document minutes

  • Field measure existing buildings or parts of buildings




Qualifications:



  • Completion of an undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree in Architecture

  • Intern Architect applicants must be registered with AIBC or eligible for registration in the province of BC

  • 5+ years’ local experience in architectural design and/or working drawing experience

  • Strong conceptual design skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of building technology and materials

  • Understanding of Rezoning, Development Permit, and Building Permit processes

  • Experience in Feasibility, Conceptual Design, and Design Development phases

  • Able to produce both written and graphic work with a high level of accuracy and quality

  • Ability to prioritize and meet demanding deadlines in a highly dynamic work environment

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D software such as Rhino, Sketch-up, Revit, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Valid work status in Canada
