INTERMEDIATE REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL / CONVEYANCER

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 | Vancouver, BC

Our client, a well-established downtown Vancouver law firm, is seeking an Intermediate Real Estate Paralegal / Conveyancer to join its friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced conveyancer who is comfortable managing their own file load and handling residential and commercial real estate transactions from start to finish. The successful candidate will also be a resource to junior team members, sharing knowledge and assisting with questions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review instructions from realtors, lenders, clients and other stakeholders


• Obtain and review applicable searches and complete due diligence


• Draft correspondence to clients, purchasers, solicitors and financial institutions


• Liaise with solicitors and other parties involved in transactions


• Review loan agreements and prepare security documents and other legal documentation


• Coordinate all aspects of real estate closings, including scheduling, expediting outstanding items and coordinating closing documents and funds


• Review and revise final closing documentation


• Conduct and verify final title search requirements


• Prepare and complete registration documentation and attend to registrations with the appropriate registries


• Complete final reporting and post-closing due diligence


• Manage a busy and varied file load while meeting deadlines


• Provide guidance and knowledge-sharing support to junior staff

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a real estate paralegal or conveyancer


• Experience with both residential and commercial real estate transactions, including banking, financing and lending matters


• Strong knowledge of relevant procedures, legislation, rules and regulations


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail


• Ability to independently manage multiple files and competing deadlines


• Professional and client-focused approach


• Comfortable working collaboratively with lawyers and support staff


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office


• Experience with e-conveyance, iManage and Adobe is an asset
