We’re looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer who’s passionate about thoughtful building design and ready to make a meaningful impact on projects that shape communities. From early concept design through construction, you’ll play a key role in project delivery, client relationships, and mentoring the next generation of engineers, while continuing to grow your own technical expertise and leadership skills. How you'll make a difference:
- Acting as a design engineer on a variety of building projects of various sizes and complexity
- Following through all phases of projects from concept design through construction
- Being driven to provide the highest technical quality in the delivery of designs, drawings, specifications, and in the field
- Working closely with our integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other partner firms
- Building relationships of trust with clients and other outside agencies
- Recruiting, mentoring and enabling the next generation of structural engineers. Coaching and reviewing the work of more junior team members
- Providing Contract Administration support for your projects including supervising and inspecting the installation, modification, testing and operation of structural design
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering is required, Master’s Degree is an asset
- Professional registration with Professional Engineers Ontario or another provincial engineering association
- 5-10 years of experience designing buildings is required
- Experience working with a range of structural materials, including reinforced concrete, structural steel and mass timber
- Working knowledge of Revit, with the ability to navigate models and perform basic tasks
- LEED, Green Globes, ENV SP (or other similar sustainability) certification is considered an asset
- An articulate and persuasive communicator that can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical firm leaders, staff and clients
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and multiple tasks/projects
$80,000 - $110,000 a year
