**INTERNAL INTEREST POSTING**  

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE – EMERGENCY/MEDICINE HYBRID 

(TEMPORARY FULL TIME) 

One (1) temporary full-time Registered Practical Nurse opportunity is available in the Emergency/Medicine Departments at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. This position is created by combining one (1) existing Regular Part-Time RPN position from the Medicine Department and one (1) existing Regular Part-Time RPN position from the Emergency Department, with the home unit designated as the Emergency Department. 

This position is unionized with UNIFOR, Local 1106. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) 

• Current BCLS Certification 

• Demonstrated assessment skills, enrolled in or completed Physical Assessment Course 

• ACLS 

• One (1) year Emergency or Telemetry experience required (Preference will be given to candidates with current Emergency nursing experience). 

• Two (2) years Med/Surg experience required 

• Competent in IV therapy including initiation and knowledge of IV therapy. 

• Updated IV course and IV medication administration – mandatory within 3 months of hire 

• Demonstrated physical assessment skills 

• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in emergency situations. 

• Demonstrated clinical assessment and patient/family teaching skills. 

• Demonstrated ability to function effectively and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. 

• Proven attendance record 

• Demonstrated lifelong learner 

• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date 

• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check 

• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired 

HOURS:

• Must be available for both shifts (days and nights) and weekends, as per department schedule 

SALARY:

• $37.69 to $39.17 per hour
