Role


The Inventory Controller position within the Supply Chain department is responsible for controlling the product warehouse stock in SAP and its replication in PCD to ensure the systems are updated in real time with the data collected from the Yard personnel on over 300 types of pipe and pipe accessory inventory items.  This position works with the yard lead, yard crews and truck drivers to ensure inventory is received and loaded onto trucks accurately as per dispatch request.  Effective communication on radio devices is essential. This position is mainly based in an office setting, however outside work is required in short durations throughout the day.

Responsibilities



  • Ensures the application of health, safety and environment standards and practices. To comply with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections and participate in the investigation process. Implement the preventive/corrective actions. Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment.

  • Receive information from Shop Floor-Yard crews and replicates product warehouse transactions in SAP/PCD with meticulous accuracy.

  • Coordinates and executes monthly cycle counts and stock reconciliations to ensure movement postings are accurate and up to date in the system.

  • Works with internal departments in the resolution of inventory discrepancies.

  • Monitors First In, First Out and product aging.

  • Ensures stock preservation in accordance with Practices and Procedures coordinating inspections and materials reclassifications as required.

  • Coordinates materials downgrades/scrapping.

  • Problem solves as inventory discrepancies are noticed by backtracking inventory movements in SAP.

  • Works with Administration and Finance department to complete inventory counts on an annual basis .

  • Assists in shipment activities, final verification that product loaded onto truck by yard personnel is accurate to dispatch information.

  • Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards ensuring adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.

  • Adhoc projects and responsibilities as the business requires.

  • Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resources assigned to their area.


 


Qualifications



  • Minimum of 2 years inventory control experience in any industry, however OCTG inventory preferred.

  • Warehouse Management, Accounting or Supply Chain background preferred.

  • SAP experience considered a strong asset.

  • Class 5 Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract, an asset.

  • Data analysis experience, an asset.

  • Experience with inventory management systems, an asset.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel experience required; Strong Microsoft office abilities (Outlook, Word, etc.).

  • Strong general computer skills.

  • Team oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Detail oriented, organized and strong analytical abilities.

  • Recognized for their ability to troubleshoot and propose solutions.


Schedule and Working Conditions



  • 8hr Days – with flexibility based on business needs.

  • On-call rotation and eligible for overtime.

  • Work is performed in an industrial yard setting.
