Job Description - Investor Relations Manager

The Investor Relations Manager position is based out of Vancouver.

Applicants for this position will be self-motivated individuals with a high degree of initiative and will possess strong interpersonal skills, be attentive to detail, and able to build trusting relationships.

The candidate will report directly to the Senior Director of Investor Relations and work in conjunction with the Partners, Investments, Asset Management and Finance and Accounting departments.

The Investor Relations Manager will be active in the following primary responsibilities both in an individual and team setting:

  • Supporting Investment Team in strategizing and coordinating fundraising plan and new initiatives
  • Strategizing and coordinating fundraising process
  • Working closely with the Investment Team in researching private equity market trends and opportunities
  • Supporting SVP of Investments in creation of private equity fund (or other initiative) and fundraising materials (PPM, fund documents, presentations, etc.)
  • Coordinating with 3rd party fundraisers
  • Coordinating Partners to present investment opportunities to prospective investors and JV partners
  • Foster Partner relationships with investors and potential JV partners
  • Oversee investor database and identify potential investors for a given investment strategy
  • Scheduling meetings and travel to meetings and following up with investors as needed
  • Coordinating investor due diligence requests and data room

Fund Closing and Operations:

  • Assisting with the investor closings of the Fund
  • Communications and regular reporting to investor and investment partners
  • Working with other HP team members in creation of quarterly reports and special reports
  • Coordinator Capital Calls and Distributions with the VP of Accounting
  • Facilitating Advisory Board meetings and approvals
  • Facilitating Investment Committee meetings
  • Facilitating Annual Meeting for each Fund
  • Ensure all decisions meet compliance requirements of the Fund agreements
  • Ensuring timely responses to investor questions and coordinating responses with VP of Accounting and other department

Competencies, Qualifications and Required Experience

  • Bachelor or higher degree in business, marketing, finance or related field is required
  • Understanding and passions for real estate industry and/or private equity is a benefit
  • Deep understanding of basic fund marketing and fundraising principles
  • Solid relationships with institutional investors, pension funds and /or high net worth individuals is a benefit
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Our Compensation & Benefits Philosophy

Our compensation package includes a competitive base salary, bonus, and potential LTI program. The typical hiring range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000 per year. The actual offered salary may vary and will depend on individual experience, qualifications, and market conditions for the role.
