Journeyman Carpenter

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, including framing, finishing, and general construction techniques. As a Journeyman Carpenter at New City Contracting, you will play a crucial role in executing construction projects to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and follow blueprints, sketches, and construction plans to meet project specifications


• Perform various carpentry tasks, including framing, installing doors and windows, trim work, and finishing


• Measure, cut, and shape materials accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment


• Select and use appropriate tools and equipment safely and effectively


• Collaborate with other team members, including contractors, subcontractors, and project managers, to coordinate work activities and meet deadlines


• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure efficiency and productivity
  
  

Qualifications:

• Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program


• Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent experience


• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry


• Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings


• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Commitment to safety and quality craftsmanship


• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
