Job Description - Jr. Sous Chef - Bluebird Restaurant

We’re seeking a Jr. Sous Chef to join us at Bluebird! Bluebird is a wood-fired steakhouse featuring the best of Alberta beef including your favorite classic cuts and all-day-roasted Prime rib. Bluebird is where brunch and cocktails collide into fireside lunch which glides into happy hour and then swooshes into dinner where the après begins. What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Chef in leading and mentoring the kitchen team
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and kitchen efficiency meet company standards
  • Oversee food preparation, organization, and cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Manage inventory levels, place orders, and ensure supplies are on time and within budget
  • Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and compliance with safety regulations
  • Train staff and foster a strong team culture

What You Have:

  • 2-3 years of culinary experience required
  • Previous supervisory kitchen experience is an asset
  • Food Safety certification (training provided if needed)
  • Understanding of kitchen procedures and staff training best practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
  • Proven team player with a talent for uniting and motivating others
  • Excellent communicator who values a positive workplace culture
  • Flexible schedule required
