Junior Accountant

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will possess excellent critical thinking capacities and financial accounting skills. They will be driven, thrive in a learning environment, and be looking to move forward in their career. The candidate will be counted on to improve business systems and processes and will actively support the objectives of the accounting group.

• Responsible for bank reconciliations


• Responsible for various clearing account reconciliations


• Prepare monthly journal entries


• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly working papers, management reporting packages and financial statements


• Analyze variances between budget and actual


• Support operations by improving business processes and providing financial information to various departments, as required


• Assist the accounting team where needed on special projects


• Other duties as assigned

Our ‘Must Haves’

• Minimum 1 year accounting experience


• Advanced Proficiency with Excel and Word


• Demonstrated analytical skills


• Manufacturing or Home building industry experience would be an asset


• Experience with Sage Timberline would be an asset
