JUNIOR BUSINESS ANALYST - TORONTO

The Junior Business Analyst for Trisura’s Business Application Management Office is a member of the product team who will guide and support the activities of product development. Working closely with product managers and IT team members, the Junior business analyst will liaise with business stakeholders to refine product requirements, translate those requirements into user stories and validate that the deployed solution meets the business need.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare business requirements and user stories:
    • Analyze current state, perform gap analysis, and help evaluate solutions that align to business needs;
    • Participate in discussions with stakeholders to develop, validate, and prioritize business requirements.
  • Collaborating with business users to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
  • Impact analysis on system and process changes.
  • Responsible for developing and curating ideas that will deliver value to all stakeholders.
  • Develop, produce, and maintain procedures, process maps, and documentation as required.
  • Coordinate with the product team to test software changes and ensure that functionality meets stated user requirements.
  • Helping to define the overall product vision and road map.
  • Helping to manage the product backlog and prioritizing based on changing requirements.
  • Assisting in all stages of product creation including design, development and validation.
  • Liaising with the underwriting and claims team and other end-users to deliver updates.
  • Complete Business Acceptance Testing.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for incidents that require more specific knowledge of technical issues and IT systems and/or deeper knowledge of business processes.
  • Manage and troubleshoot client-raised tickets and determine internal priority and scope of work required.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of business analysis techniques with some experience as a business analyst or similar within the Financial Services sector.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology.
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles and quality standards.
  • University degree in the field of Business, Management, Communications or equivalent
  • Excellent communication, presentation, written and leadership skills.
  • Bilingual (English and French) an asset.
