The Opportunity 

We are looking for a Junior Naval Architect to join our team in Halifax or St. John's. This is an entry-level role for someone who is curious, practical and ready to learn by working on real marine projects alongside experienced technical staff. 

You will support vessel design, analysis, documentation and project work while building your technical foundation in naval architecture, marine engineering coordination and regulatory requirements. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist with vessel design, modification and refit projects under the guidance of senior team members. 

• Prepare drawings, models, calculations, and technical documentation. 

• Support stability, structural and general naval architecture tasks as part of multidisciplinary project teams. 

• Assist with site visits, 3D scanning and onboard data collection when required. 

• Help prepare reports, specifications and regulatory submission packages. 

• Coordinate with naval architects, marine engineers, designers, clients and shipyards to support project delivery. 

Qualifications 

• Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture, Naval Architectural Technology. 

• Entry-level position; project or marine industry experience would be considered an asset. 

• Interest in ships, vessel design, marine operations and practical engineering problem-solving. 

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Rhino, GHS or other design and analysis tools would be considered an asset. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

• Willingness to learn, ask questions and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams. 

• A practical, organized approach and attention to detail.
