Junior Strategist

At Berlin, we help organizations solve complex challenges, communicate big ideas, and strengthen communities. As a Junior Strategist, you’ll contribute to this mission by supporting the development and execution of strategic communications, engagement and advocacy plans. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with emerging experience in communications, public engagement, or political environments who’s eager to learn, grow, and make an impact.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that works with a wide range of clients—nonprofits, businesses, governments, and change-makers—on projects that matter. We’re looking for someone who’s naturally curious, a strong communicator, and ready to roll up their sleeves.

What you’ll do:

• Support strategy development and execution for client projects in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy
  


• Research, write, and edit strategic content such as briefing notes, reports and media releases
  


• Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, team meetings, and client presentations
  


• Coordinate logistics for campaigns and engagement activities
  


• Help monitor media, political, and public policy trends that affect our clients
  


• Collaborate with creative team members to bring ideas to life
  


• Be a thoughtful and reliable team player
  

What you bring:

• 1–4 years of relevant experience in communications, public engagement, community development, or political environments
  


• Strong research, writing and editing skills
  


• A decent understanding of Alberta’s political, economic, and cultural landscape
  


• A collaborative mindset and ability to work with others to solve problems creatively
  


• A curious approach and interest in what’s happening in your community and beyond
  


• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  


• A desire to grow professionally and contribute to something bigger
  

Bonus points for:
- Experience working with media or in agency environments
- Comfort with social and digital platforms
- Some experience in and knowledge of rural communities.
