This role plays a key part in cultivating a culture of missions in our church, mobilizing volunteers to engage meaningfully with needs in our community and around the world

Job Overview

This position is responsible for working alongside the Justice and Compassion Pastor in supporting the various Compassion and Global Missions initiatives and partnerships at Sherwood Park Alliance Church. This role also includes managing, communicating, and working collaboratively with other staff and ministry leaders on the Volunteer Onboarding and Abuse Prevention process and content, with the goal of unification and annual alignment and resourcing.

Main Responsibilities

• Be the administrative point of contact for Justice and Compassion Ministries


• Work alongside the Justice and Compassion Pastor communicating and working with Compassion and Missions partners; including, arranging service opportunities and Short-Term Missions Trips


• Assist Justice and Compassion Pastor with the developing of ministry plans, budgets, and maintenance of same


• Work alongside other staff leaders in bringing alignment to Volunteer Onboarding and Abuse Prevention training across all volunteer teams


• Manage volunteer profiles and Abuse Prevention guidelines for Justice and Compassion volunteers


• Periodically assist with projects/events as needed which will include occasional evenings or weekend days


• Responsible for some administrative support to the larger team


• Maintain database updates as necessary and respond to assigned follow ups


• Assist team with generic duties as needed

Qualifications

• Willing to pursue non-portable licensing with C&MA


• 3-5 years office administration


• Minimum high school level of education


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience


• Competencies include communication, time management/organization, conflict resolution and flexibility/adaptability


• Strong customer service skills

Additional Requirements

• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.


• Completion of Abuse Prevention Training.


• Will adhere to the policies and procedures of the Staff Handbook.


• Membership, or working towards Membership, of Sherwood Park Alliance Church.
