We are looking for a Driller/Blaster to join our KC Drilling & Blasting team in Nelson, BC. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely perform all tasks appointed by the Lead Blaster
• Handling explosives under the supervision of the Lead Blaster
• Fill out all company-required daily paperwork
• Load blast holes with explosives
• Stem/deck the blast holes with appropriate material
• Connect the pattern with the appropriate timing
• Blast the pattern
• Assist with stocking explosives
• Additional duties as assigned
• Be able to operate a hydraulic drill, efficiently and safely.
• Perform maintenance items on the equipment
• Be capable of understanding and completing proper drilling layouts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the KC Drilling & Blasting team, we expect you to bring the following to the table:

• Minimum 3 years experience of blasting
• Valid WorkSafeBC Blaster certification required
• BC Energy, Mines & Petroleum Blasting certification preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Proven safety record
• Able to work throughout the Kootenay and Boundary region
• Able to work 8-12 hour days
• Team player who is willing to pitch in wherever needed
