Keyholders are part-time leadership support team members who help maintain smooth daily operations when scheduled in a leadership capacity. While continuing in their primary frontline role, Keyholders step into an acting on-shift leadership position during designated shifts.
They serve as the primary point of contact when on duty, supporting staff, addressing operational concerns, and escalating matters to the Assistant Park Manager or Park Manager when .
Keyholders help ensure the site operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with WildPlay’s guest experience standards, without holding full managerial authority.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Keyholder’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Acting as the on-shift leadership point of contact during assigned Keyholder shifts
Interacting with guests to ensure expectations are being set, met, and exceeded
Directing activities that ensure adherence to the principles of safety, risk management, guest service/experience, and employee conduct
Maintaining awareness of overall site activity and guest flow
Ensuring site-specific safetyand risk management standards are being adhered to
Maintaining a solid understanding of all jobs and roles within the park
Working proactively to prevent issues and maintain a constant state of efficiency
Communicating disciplinary and corrective actions when necessary; employing conflict resolutions when necessary
Communicating operational updates or concerns to the Assistant Park Manager and Park Manager
Fostering a positive, safe and healthy work environment for all staff
Enhancing employee productivity and morale
Scope/Authority:
Serves as the acting on-shift leadership presence
Does not replace or override the authority of the Assistant Park Manager, Park Manager, or Element Specialist
Makes operational decisions within established guidelines
Escalates disciplinary, safety, or high-risk decisions to senior leadership
Required Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrated high performance in current frontline role (internal applicants)
Strong understanding of site operations and safety procedures
CurrentStandard First-Aid and CPR-C Certification
Positive attitude with the ability to give and receive feedback
Solid judgment, decision-making, and observational skills
Ability to work well under pressure, remaining composed and confident
Proven experience providing team leadership, coaching and mentorship
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a fast paced, hospitality-based environment
Work Relationships:
Reports directly to the Assistant Park Manager and Park Manager and maintains aconstant and consistent line of communication with the management team of the park.
Work Schedule:
This is classified as a full-time seasonal position. Our peakseason typically runs from May to September depending on the weather and the needs of the business. This position will work a blended schedule of ‘regular’ frontline shifts and keyholder shifts. At times, this position may work a flexible schedule of full-time and part-time employment. This includes working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
