Laboratory Supervisor

GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Laboratory Supervisor to join our Team. We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Supervisor in our Moncton, New Brunswick office.

The successful candidate will have the following:

Educational & Experience Requirements:

• Civil Engineering Degree, Civil Technician/Technologist Diploma or higher in a related field.


• 4 years or more experience working in a laboratory setting.


• Knowledge of CSA Concrete requirements for laboratory and field testing.


• English or French speaking

 Main Duties:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

• Adhering to all company policies.


• Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the Moncton Laboratory.


• Perform testing of material samples, record and document test results in accordance with applicable CSA and/or ASTM standards                  while maintaining a high level of quality control.


• Ensure the laboratory is maintained in a clean and professional manner.


• Ensure, with the assistance of GEMTEC, that all work carried out in the laboratory is done so in a manner that is safe for all GEMTEC            employees and any visitors to our laboratory.


• Work with management to ensure that the equipment and training required to effectively carryout laboratory work is present.


• Record test data and prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets, or graphs for interpretation of test results.


• Other duties as required, including but not limited to:


• Field work during low volume periods in the laboratory.


• Maintain a "team player'' attitude with all employees of GEMTEC, assisting coworkers when needed.

 Position:

• Full time (37.5 hours per week)


• Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work related travel.


• Salary range: $39,000 - $49,000 per year
