ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, the Casual Labourer – Snow Removal is responsible to keep Fort McKay First Nation properties clear of snow and ice. This role is on an as-needed basis.

KEY RESPONSIBITIES

• Perform snow removal using shovels, ice chippers, snow blowers, and other hand tools.


• Apply ice melt, salt, and sand to maintain safe walking and driving surfaces.


• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).


• Respond promptly to call-ins during snow events and work efficiently under varying weather conditions.


• Communicate hazards, equipment issues, and site conditions to the Supervisor.


• Other duties as required to ensure the safety of Fort McKay First Nations properties during winter conditions.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Successful candidate will be a Fort McKay Band Member


• Ability to work independently or as part of a team


• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of outdoor activity.


• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible or irregular hours based on weather conditions.
