Mainland is hiring! We are looking for a skilled Labourer to join our Civil team.

The Civil Labourer is responsible for ensuring that the sites are well organized, clean, tidy and that the crews have everything they need to get the job done.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
Responsible for the general maintenance and support of the civil sites
Loading and unloading material and equipment
Placing and rolling out turf, general assistance with landscaping and fencing
Shoveling, raking out gravel and/or topsoil
Assisting the pipe crew with cutting wood, pipe, and ensuring crews have supplies
Help maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues
Keeping a positive safety attitude and ensuring hazards are eliminated
Maintain quality results of work
Qualifications, Experience & Skillset
Previous construction experience
Civil experience a definite asset
A positive attitude and a strong team mentality - willingness to learn and support the crews where needed
First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
Understand safety and how to communicate safety issues as they arise
Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all of shift standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
Flexible with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic
What we offer
Unionized base wage of $39.58 per hour (wage subject to negotiation based on candidate's experience), plus 12.5% of gross earnings for vacation / statutory holiday pay.
