Labourer I - Roads - 6 Month Term - (26-010) External Closes Feb 25/26

The City of Campbell River is searching for an experienced Labourer I to join our Roads & Fleet Team, in this 6 month term position from March 30th, 2026 to October 1st, 2026.

The role: Reporting to the Roads and Fleet Manager and taking direction from the Roads and Construction Supervisors, the Labourer I performs a variety of tasks assigned in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the City infrastructure.

What we offer: The rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $34.34 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits (equivalent to $38.46 per hour), based on a 40-hour work week. 

Labourer I - Job Description 

Education/Training

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and produce and maintain a clean personal driving record, as per City policy.
• Occupational First Aid Level 1

Experience

• Minimum one (1) year relevant experience as a labourer in a municipal or related setting
• Experience working around heavy construction equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders and dump trucks etc.
